Hmmmmm. You know, I think that I've come to a realization. If I were to go by Earth time--and oh, these calculations are annoying--I believe that today would technically be my birthday. Sort of. Depends on if you count time when I was dead, how you factor in my time as a human, but!

I haven't celebrated a birthday in centuries--we don't often really celebrate birthdays at all, really. With such long lives, it all becomes a bit of a blur. Plenty of Time Lords don't even remember their own birthdays.

Amusingly enough, this is actually one of my younger looking regenerations. My last one looked quite a bit older, but then again, I was stuck as a human for some time in that one.

Surely there are certain milestones which are celebrated, though. Coming of age, or reaching a century, or millennium. The age at which one may pilot a ship of time, perhaps?

The only age that particularly matters is eight, when one enters the Academy. Other than that? No, there isn't much. I come from a very dull race, after all.

Not in the least. I'm a Time Lord. And yes, regenerations--my race has the ability to regenerate and completely change our bodies in the process.

If it has truly been almost nine hundred years since there was any significance attached to a birthday, then this one must be made particularly special. It is a shame that such has not happened in so long. Birthdays are days to be celebrated - another year of life is always worth celebrating, is it not?

What do we do? Live, like any other race. Travel through time. Most of them hardly interfere with things anymore, boooooring. Well. Not that that matters anymore, considering that they're all dead except for the Doctor and I.

An Earth year is so little to me at this point, but yes, you do have a point. Considering how--nice the Doctor has been to me as of late, I'm sure that he'll insist on something anyway himself.

Travel through time? What kind of things have you seen because of that? Did you travel back in time to see famous events?

I've seen plenty of things, and I have. Some. I'm not one for aimless sightseeing, however.

Space travel? Oh, yes. Our ships travel through both time and space.
