I'm starting to think that I should invest in a coat. Where does one even get a coat around here, anyway? It's hardly as if--

[He's interrupted by a certain other Time Lord blustering his way in. The Doctor skips in, going immediately through the kitchen and rifling through the drawers.]

Master, do we have any paint brushes somewhere? Or rollers? That might be better...

...Why do you ask?

Because I need them. Ah! Here we go!

[He snatches a couple of rollers out of a drawer (what were those doing there?) and dashes back outside, leaving the door open. The Master sighs, mutters "I'm afraid to ask", but proceeds to get up and follow him. He keeps the PCD on and with him as he walks outside to reveal.... The Doctor. Painting the outer walls of the building. Bright blue. Bright, TARDIS blue. The Master stares, practically horrified.]

What in the name of Rassilon are you doing to my house?!

Making it more homey. It was boring before, and when we're done, it won't be!

[The Doctor beams proudly at his work. The Master, on the other hand, practically flails, storming over.]

You're making it look like your bloody TARDIS!

Well, yes, that is the idea. Come help me. This is going to take all day if I do it by myself.

I'm not painting our house this ridiculous color!

Well I am.

...fine. You know what? Fine. I'll help you paint.

[The Master goes over, picking up a brush and dipping it into the paint. He goes to work, painting a series of circles and the like on the wall, stands back, and admires his handiwork.]

...Oh, very funny, Master.

[He scowls at the circles. It's old Gallifreyan, a language lost to all but the last of the Time Lords. The Doctor is a douchebag.]

((ooc: Master is in red, Doctor is in blue. Tags can come from either or both!))

[Watching Lord Saxon and his Doctor on the glass is bittersweet. The domesticity of it reminds her of Tybalt, but she is glad to see her dear friend and his dearest one enjoying themselves. And to see the strange circles - she knows not what they mean, but it still manages to make her laugh, seeing the Doctor's reaction to them.]

You - you do not like the artistic license, Doctor? Lord Saxon has made a fine painting.

And, Lord Saxon - should you wish a coat, I - I will see about making you one, if - if you like. It is the least I can do.

The Doctor just doesn't appreciate the truth when he sees it. [He chuckles.] ...And I would appreciate that very much, if you could.
capuletnomore: (awake and hopeful)

I am glad to do so. Have - have you anything in particular in mind regarding a coat? Colors, or trimmings?

[Just so long as you don't want red, else she might cry again.]

Does the painting have a special significance, Lord Saxon?

Black will do fine. Something simple.

[He grins a little.]

A little. It's a sentence in my native language.
capuletnomore: (look to the stars full)

[personal profile] capuletnomore 2011-11-02 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
[She nods.]

I have black fabric in my stores I think will do well for a coat.

[Juliet, collecting lots of random fabric? Never.]

What length of coat would suit? A long one, like the Doctor's, or one shorter, nearer the knee?

[She can't help but smile back. Something new and fascinating to help distract her is always good.]

That is the language of the Lords of Time? It is beautiful! What does it say?

[identity profile] soundsofdrums.livejournal.com 2011-11-02 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
A long one, similar to his. Better, of course, but I've no doubt you can manage that without very much effort. I believe in you.

[Oh dear. To tell her or not.]

Well. It was a bit of venting, really, and hardly something I'd wish to repeat in public with a proper lady.
capuletnomore: (bliss)

[personal profile] capuletnomore 2011-11-02 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
[And that last statement right there brings a genuine smile to her face.]

I shall make you a very fine coat, Lord Saxon.

[And she giggles. The Lords of Time are no different to the young men of Verona, in that respect.]

If that is something that is not fit to be repeated in public, I can only imagine what a line of poetry would look like.

[identity profile] soundsofdrums.livejournal.com 2011-11-02 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
Much more elegant, of course. I never much was one for poetry, though. Sciences were heavily favored over the arts on Gallifrey.
capuletnomore: (determined close up)

[personal profile] capuletnomore 2011-11-02 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
It is little wonder that those from Gallifrey are Lords of Time, if such is the case. But even a line of prose describing scientific principle must look elegant in such fine script.

[identity profile] soundsofdrums.livejournal.com 2011-11-02 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
It depends on the person's handwriting. I always took great care in my own, as my notes were constantly copied off of in my Academy days.
capuletnomore: (determined)

[personal profile] capuletnomore 2011-11-02 10:09 am (UTC)(link)
It was most kind of you to lend your notes to a friend who was not able to write as succinctly, Lord Saxon. And your handwriting is lovely.

[identity profile] soundsofdrums.livejournal.com 2011-11-02 01:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't have much of a choice. Thet-- The Doctor would have failed even more spectacularly had he not constantly had me to copy off of. And cheat off of, at that. I was far too charitable.
capuletnomore: (squee)

[personal profile] capuletnomore 2011-11-03 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
[She giggles at this, too.]

I have told you of your merits on many occasions, Lord Saxon. And here, here is more proof. Helping to ensure your friend completed his studies is most noble, even if the methods are not entirely honest. I have seen the male cousins attempt this very thing at home, and seen the wincing they do when they attempt to sit, once Father or their tutors have caught them out.

Hello, Juliet! [On his own PCD, sitting on his roof.]

It's not that I don't like his...artistic side...He's just very childish sometimes. [Pot, meet kettle]
capuletnomore: (oh I see)

[personal profile] capuletnomore 2011-11-02 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
H-hello, Doctor. You seem in good spirits this day.

[She is glad someone is. And she blinks.]

Childish? Because he wished a mural of sorts? I have never known Lord Saxon to be childish.

[identity profile] hideyosammich.livejournal.com 2011-11-02 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
Why not? It's a lovely day, and my house is TARDIS blue. I've got something to do finally!

[How...did one explain that the Master is writing profanities across the house?] Weeeeeell...it's not exactly a mural. That's what our language looks like.
capuletnomore: (Default)

[personal profile] capuletnomore 2011-11-02 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
It - it is indeed a lovely day. Particularly as you may share it with someone like to kin.

[Her smile turns sad at that, but she shakes her head. It is not his fault Tybalt is gone, after all, and she does not wish to spoil his good mood.]

So Lord Saxon said. It is a beautiful script.

[identity profile] hideyosammich.livejournal.com 2011-11-02 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
It's not so beautiful when you can read it. [Small smile.]
capuletnomore: (clever clever)

[personal profile] capuletnomore 2011-11-02 10:11 am (UTC)(link)
Lord Saxon says the words are not fit for a lady.

[She smiles a little at this.]

The male cousins often used words not fit for ladies to describe my husband's kin. Is it like to those sorts of things?

[identity profile] hideyosammich.livejournal.com 2011-11-02 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[He can't help but laugh at that. Who is this genteel "Lord Saxon" anyway?]

It's exactly like that, actually. Master thought it would be fun to insult me across the wall of our house. Not that anyone can read it.
capuletnomore: (sharing a private joke)

[personal profile] capuletnomore 2011-11-03 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
[And that makes her laugh a little as well. Time Lords do wonders for her mood.]

His intended readership is able, is that not so? For the rest of us, it is a beautiful mural. Would that any human writing were so elegantly crafted as that of the Lords of Time.

[identity profile] hideyosammich.livejournal.com 2011-11-03 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
Aaaahhh, you wouldn't want to take away something that makes Time Lords so special now, would you? [He smiles slightly.]

It's pretty, yes.
capuletnomore: (sharing a private joke)

[personal profile] capuletnomore 2011-11-03 10:08 am (UTC)(link)
Then I shall amend my remark - would that any human writing were half so elegantly crafted.

Oh, I don't know, some of your written languages are brilliant.

None quite so artistic, though.
