[The first thing that one is able to see on the screen is fire. A decent amount of it. Flames are lighting up a few trees and the ruins of a building that could have already been ruins, could have been whole before--it's hard to tell. Destruction, simply. Thankfully, it's confined to a small area.

The Master is sitting off to the side, absentmindedly twirling his laser screwdriver in his hand. He does not look happy in the least. It's mostly anger, but there's a twinge of sadness there as well. But just a very slight twinge, almost completely unnoticable.]

Doctor, Doctor, Doctor. [He's muttering to himself. Even that is hard to hear, as he's not close to the screen.] My dear Doctor. Just you wait until you get here. Things are going to be a little different.

[A pause, and he grins slightly.]

Playtime is going to change. I'll make it.

A war. A very rather nasty one that ended with one of our own essentially destroying both planets involved, including our own. Charming, really. [Pause.] Oh, I do miss Gallifrey, but I was never really fond of most people there. The only one that mattered--the one other Time Lord in existence, still--left there centuries ago.

[War, she can relate to. It sounds like a very large-scale version of the feud between her family and the Montagues.]

How horrible! To think that one of your own caused such destruction. It must be difficult to bear. And, you have been abandoned by a friend? Most horrible of all.

[Juliet, you are such a bleeding heart.]

It's absolutely terrible. Breaks my hearts, really. [He smirks slightly.] Good thing he's still alive!

[She can only imagine. It's difficult enough without Romeo here, and she knows that her family is at least safe.]

Then, perhaps he will find his way here, and the two of you may come to terms with what has happened. Surely whatever occurred is not irreconcilable, not now that you only have each other from home. And he may realize the wrong he has done, and apologize straight away. I know not your specific circumstances, but often times men act rashly, and come to regret it later, but do not know how best to express their regret. Would the same feelings apply to Time Lords, Lord Saxon?

[They've battled for centuries. No matter how much the Doctor may have seemed to want it now, they were way past reconciliations. Things had gone too far. The Master didn't even really want reconciliation, which is why the Doctor's forgiveness had scared him so.]

Oh, yes, even for centuries and centuries. And--I've no doubt he'll come. He always comes running these days if I try hard enough. Predictable.

You reach out to him, and though he comes, he still cannot make peace with you? Does he come only to mock his former friend? You are a good man for continuing to try and speak with him, Lord Saxon. Perhaps this next time, he will understand.

[Oh, Juliet. If you only knew.]

Yes. I plan to make him understand.

Unless he is a fool or heartless, he should hear you out and wish to understand. If the two of you are all that remains of your people, it is foolish to continue on in such a fashion.

This has been our relationship for centuries, now! Oh--how we fight among the stars, how very entertaining it can get sometimes. But he is quite the fool. Always has been.

Centuries? You look no older than Count Paris, Lord Saxon. Another difference between humans and Time Lords?

Entertaining? Ah, it must remind you of your younger days. Boys often fight as a way to grow closer, at least in Verona.

He must be, to treat you so callously. One would hope that after centuries, one would learn or grow. I am sorry it is not the case for your former friend.

Indeed. I'm just over nine hundred years old, though this is one of my youngest bodies yet.

[Smile!] Yes. The days in Academy, the trouble we'd get into, the spoiling of each others' experiments; the start of it all. The start of this fun.

You wear your age well, Lord Saxon.

[That thing about bodies...she's just going to assume it's a joke.]

[She smiles as well, seeing him look happy.]

It sounds like my dear cousin Tybalt and the other cousins. They go off carousing in the streets and get into all sorts of trouble, and think it fun.

Looking back, it really was a ball! Skipping class, pranking the Lord President... [No, no. He's not going to think about the past. He's not going to think of the only truly fond memories he's ever really had, and he certainly wasn't going to think of Theta.

The Doctor. He doesn't want to use the name Theta ever again.]

I hope then that he will come to his senses and speak with you, Lord Saxon. It sounds as though the two of you were bosom friends, and it is a shame that he has abandoned you so cruelly.

A terrible one. But I don't plan on letting him go this time! Things are going to be different. I've learned so much lately, after all.

[She smiles at that.]

With your positive attitude and determination, I am sure you will succeed this time.

[All he needs is evil laughter, really, at this point.]

I'll make sure of it.
