004 [video/action]

[Absentmindedly constructing death rays is rather pointless when one has a sonic screwdriver, and there's just not enough things to tinker with in this place. The Master's getting bored. Very, very easily. As usual. For now, he's back at the library, flipping through books.

And by flipping through books, it's literally flipping through them. Book after book, novel after novel is being read at superhuman speed, hundreds of pages in mere seconds. Two dozen hardcovers in, the Master tosses the latest read one over his shoulder, sighing.]

Two weeks already. Two. Weeks. There must be something.

[[ooc: Anyone's welcome to join him at the library! :D]]

Plenty of things. It's one of my favorite inventions. Killing whatever is out in the wastes is just one of the things it'll let me do.

[He glances around. Nothing living to destroy, but. He points at a random book and presses the trigger button on the screwdriver. A laser shoots out from it, and the book is immediately disintegrated.]

Fascinating...

[All he has are two big guns. A portable laser that implodes stuff? What he wouldn't give for something like that back home.]

Isn't it just? I would have been disappointed had this not come with me here.

Killed many with that little toy?

The occasional pest. A mere year isn't nearly enough to get any use out of anything.

For a human, you weild it as though you've had it longer.

[identity profile] soundsofdrums.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
When did I ever say that I was human?

Re: [Video]

After so many centuries, I assume, and then if necessary, am corrected.

If not human, what then? You're not dressed like the soul reapers. Nor do you come off as one of the undead.

[identity profile] soundsofdrums.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Not human yourself, are you? Something struck me as different about you, though I've yet to quite place it.

As for me? Time Lord.

Re: [Video]

[identity profile] immortalservant.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
No. I haven't been human in nearly six hundred years.

To save you the trouble, I'm a vampire.

A Time Lord? Care to elaborate?

[identity profile] soundsofdrums.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Vampires! Did you know that us Time Lords share 98% of our genes with you lot?

A species from the planet Gallifrey, which oh so sadly doesn't exist anymore. Essentially the most superior beings in the universe--though were most of them bores! What fun is having the ability to travel space and time if you can't do anything but watch?

Re: [Video]

[identity profile] immortalservant.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
Do you now?

So, let me guess, you're the one who got bored of your comrades and decided to mess around in time?

[identity profile] soundsofdrums.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
We do.

One of them, yes. You could say I got inspired by an old, dear friend of mine.

Re: [Video]

[identity profile] immortalservant.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose then the time travelling abilties are the 2% missing from the vampire I am and those down my line?

[identity profile] soundsofdrums.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
That would be correct, in a manner of fashion--it isn't as if we can physically time travel ourselves. We have ships that do it. But as the species name implies, we of course have quite the affinity to time in general.

Shame, I'd go back and relive World War II over and over again...

Do you have a name?

[identity profile] soundsofdrums.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
Earth's World War II, I take it? Pleasant memories?

[Pause. Ah, hell, why not, this guy seems interesting enough.]

The Master.

Re: [Video]

[identity profile] immortalservant.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. Earth. The lucky planet. And so on with all the names its been given.

Well, I must say that for an alien, you look rather...humaniod.

My name is Alucard.

[identity profile] soundsofdrums.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Time Lords don't look like humans. Humans look like Time Lords.

[Smile!] A pleasure to meet you, then, Alucard.

I suppose that depends on one's point of view. And dimension in the case of this place.

[He returns the smile with a fangy grin] Likewise.

[identity profile] soundsofdrums.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Where I come from, us Gallifreyans came into existence long before humans.

So. How long have you been in this lovely little place?

Re: [Video]

[identity profile] immortalservant.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
A year and seven months.

Give or take a day.

[identity profile] soundsofdrums.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
[He raises an eyebrow at that.]

I better have found a way out before that long passes for me. A year, two years--it's hardly anything to me, but it passes so slow when a place is this boring!

Re: [Video]

[identity profile] immortalservant.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
The action picks up now and then.

But I feel about the same as you do on the matter. Time in the wastes passes the long hours, but even I can't spend more than a week out there. Nothing fit to eat afterall.
